Photo Portfolio PDF

Turn large photos into a compact, captioned, watermarked PDF album.

About this tool

Photo Portfolio PDF — Big Photos to a Small, Email-Ready PDF

Arrange dozens of full-resolution photos into a captioned, watermarked PDF that fits an email. Everything runs locally in your browser — no upload, no sign-up, no watermark and no file size limit.

Hit a Size Target

Choose 10 MB or 25 MB and each photo is resized and compressed to fit the budget, instead of guessing at quality sliders.

Built for Huge Originals

Photos from 45 or 60 megapixel cameras are decoded one at a time on your device, so tens of originals can become one PDF without a cloud upload.

Captions, Cover and Watermark

Print shooting info such as camera, lens, aperture and ISO under each photo, add a cover title and a tiled watermark. The watermark works in any script; captions and the cover title use Latin letters.

How to use it

  1. Drop your photos: JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC originals of any size. Add photos brings in more later.
  2. Drag the thumbnails into page order, or use Move earlier and Move later. Remove photo takes one out.
  3. Choose Photos per page (1, 2, 4 or 6), the page orientation, a file size of up to 10 MB, up to 25 MB or no limit, and a maximum resolution of 150, 220 or 300 DPI.
  4. Optionally pick captions (file name or camera info), type a cover title and a watermark text, and set the watermark to light, medium or strong.
  5. Click Build portfolio and download the PDF. The result shows how many photos ended up on how many pages.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Toolula processes the document inside your browser tab with pdf-lib and WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device.

Are colours preserved?

Photos are decoded with their embedded colour profile and saved as sRGB, so wide-gamut originals look the same on screen and in print. The profile itself is not embedded in the PDF.

Is my EXIF data kept?

The shooting info is read from your photos and can be printed as captions. It is not copied into the PDF's hidden metadata, so location data never leaks.

What if the PDF cannot reach my size limit?

Toolula first lowers the JPEG quality of each photo, then its pixel size. If the file is still too large, it tells you so: remove some photos or choose a larger limit.

Is it really free?

Yes. You can use every Toolula PDF tool for free, without an account. The free plan has fair-use limits; Toolula Pro, an optional plan, raises them and adds advanced features.
