What is the difference between EAN-13 and CODE128?

EAN-13 is a fixed 13-digit retail standard used on consumer products, while CODE128 encodes variable-length text and digits and is common for logistics, internal SKUs and shipping labels.

Is the check digit calculated automatically?

Yes. Enter the first 12 digits of an EAN-13 and the check digit is appended. If you enter all 13, Toolula checks them and does not draw an invalid code.

Is the tool free for commercial use?

Yes. Generating, downloading and printing the codes is free, including commercial use, with no watermark. The free plan has fair-use limits.
