About this tool
Resume Builder — Design an ATS-Friendly PDF Résumé in Minutes
Fill in your experience, choose one of five professional templates and download a pixel-perfect PDF résumé. Everything runs locally in your browser — no upload, no sign-up, no watermark and no file size limit.
Five Professional Templates
Minimal, sidebar, colour-band, classic serif and timeline layouts, each with your own accent colour, font, spacing and an optional photo.
ATS-Friendly, Selectable Text
The PDF contains real text in embedded fonts and clickable links, so applicant tracking systems read every line — no flattened images.
Your Data Stays Yours
Your résumé is saved only in this browser. Export it as JSON or import a JSON Resume file — nothing is ever uploaded to a server.
How to use it
- Open the builder and start blank, load the example to see how it works, or import a JSON résumé (Toolula or JSON Resume).
- On the Content tab, fill in your personal details and add entries to Experience, Education, Skills and the other sections. Write one point per line; start a line with “- ” for a bullet.
- On the Design tab, choose one of the five templates (Aurora, Meridian, Atlas, Classic or Timeline), then a colour, font, text size, spacing, margins and paper size.
- Check the live preview and the page count. Turn on Fit to one page if a few lines spill onto page two.
- Click Download PDF, and use Export JSON to keep a backup you can import later.
Frequently asked questions
Are my résumé details uploaded to a server?
No. Toolula processes the document inside your browser tab with pdf-lib and WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device.
Will my résumé pass applicant tracking systems (ATS)?
Toolula writes real, selectable text with standard reading order, so ATS parsers can extract your name, experience and skills. For the strictest systems pick the single-column Aurora or Classic template.
Can I fit my résumé on one page?
Yes. Turn on “Fit to one page” and Toolula shrinks the type and spacing slightly until everything fits, while keeping it readable.
Does it support Chinese, Japanese and Korean?
Yes. When you type CJK characters, Toolula loads a matching Noto font and embeds it in the PDF, mixed with the Latin font you chose.
Why does it need an internet connection for fonts?
Fonts are downloaded once from a public font CDN so they can be embedded in the PDF. The request only asks for the font file; your details are not part of it.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can use every Toolula PDF tool for free, without an account. The free plan has fair-use limits; Toolula Pro, an optional plan, raises them and adds advanced features.
