How to use it

  1. Drop a .docx file. The tool opens with Word selected as the source.
  2. Click Convert to PDF. The document is laid out page by page in your browser, the way Word would print it.
  3. Download the PDF and compare it with the original, especially pages with floating images or unusual fonts.
  4. Keep the .docx for later changes: the PDF shows each page as an image, so text edits are made in Word.

Frequently asked questions

Are my Word files uploaded to a server?

No. Toolula processes the document inside your browser tab with pdf-lib and WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device.

Is the text in the PDF selectable?

No. Each page is rendered as an image so it looks exactly like the document, which means text cannot be selected or searched. Old .doc files are not supported; save them as .docx first.

Why does a font look different?

Fonts that are not installed on your device cannot be used and are replaced by a similar one. Install the font on this device and convert again.

Is it really free?
