About this tool

Presentable Screenshots in Seconds

Raw screenshots look flat in a post, a slide or a launch page. This tool gives them room, depth and a frame, on your device.

Backgrounds and Frames

Eight gradients, any solid colour, a blurred copy of the screenshot itself or a transparent background — with a macOS-style window or a browser bar with your own address text, in light or dark.

Sized for Where It Goes

Auto keeps the screenshot at its own pixels; fixed canvases for 16:9, 1:1, 4:5, X / Twitter, LinkedIn and Product Hunt centre and fit it, at 1× or 2× resolution.

What You See Is the File

The preview and the download are drawn by the same code with every size relative to the output, so padding, corners and shadow match exactly. Export PNG, JPG or WebP, or copy as PNG.

How to use it

  1. Drop a screenshot or press Ctrl + V to paste one from the clipboard.
  2. Choose a background (gradient, colour, blurred or transparent), then set padding, corner radius and shadow.
  3. Pick a window frame and a canvas size, such as Auto, 16:9 or X / Twitter.
  4. Download as PNG, JPG or WebP, or click Copy image to paste it into a post or chat.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Every image is decoded, processed and encoded inside your browser tab with Canvas, Web Workers and WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, stored or logged.

Does the screenshot lose sharpness?

With Auto the screenshot keeps its own pixels and only padding is added. Fixed canvases scale it to fit; choose 2× resolution to keep high-resolution (Retina) screenshots sharp.

Can I paste a screenshot directly?

Yes. Take a screenshot with your system's shortcut, then press Ctrl + V (Cmd + V on a Mac) on this page. Copy image puts the finished picture back on the clipboard as a PNG.

Which sizes do the social presets use?

16:9 is 1920 × 1080, 1:1 is 1080 × 1080, 4:5 is 1080 × 1350, X / Twitter 1600 × 900, LinkedIn 1200 × 627 and Product Hunt 1270 × 760 pixels — doubled at 2×.

Can I keep the background transparent?

Yes, with PNG or WebP. JPG has no transparency, so a transparent background is saved on white there.

Is it free, and is there a watermark?

Yes, it is free to use without an account, and Toolula never adds a watermark. The free plan has fair-use limits; Toolula Pro, an optional plan, raises them.
